Full Job Description
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. This role blends traditional analytics expertise with modern AI-enabled insight generation. You will play a key role in evolving how the organization leverages data - moving from manual reporting toward scalable, AI-powered insights. The ideal candidate is not only strong in data modeling and analysis, but also excited about leveraging tools like Insights Agents to accelerate discovery, identify patterns, and elevate decision-making across the business. This role reflects the evolution of Business Intelligence - combining human expertise with AI to deliver faster, more scalable, and more impactful insights. Note: This is an existing vacancy on the team What You'll Be Doing • AI-Enabled Insight GenerationLeverage AI tools and Insights Agents (e.g., Claude) to automate foundational analysis, uncover patterns in complex datasets, and accelerate time-to-insight. Translate AI-generated outputs into clear, trusted business recommendations. • Advanced Data Analysis & Strategic InsightsConduct deep analysis of large, complex datasets to support high-impact initiatives. Move beyond descriptive reporting to identify drivers, trends, and opportunities across the business. • Data Modeling & Semantic Layer DevelopmentDesign and maintain scalable data models and contribute to a centralized semantic layer that ensures consistent, trusted definitions across both BI tools and AI workflows. • Dashboard & Insight Product DevelopmentDesign and optimize dashboards in Tableau and other BI tools, with a focus on executive-level insights. Ensure dashboards complement (not duplicate) AI-generated insights. • AI + BI IntegrationPartner with business teams to integrate AI capabilities into analytics workflows, ensuring outputs align with governed data definitions and enterprise standards. • Technical LeadershipPartner with stakeholders to define analytical approaches, balancing traditional BI methods with AI-enabled workflows. Provide guidance on when to use dashboards vs. AI-driven analysis. • Data Dictionary OwnershipSupport the development and adoption of a centralized data dictionary to standardize metrics and enable consistent interpretation across both human and AI consumers. • Mentorship & EnablementUpskill analysts and business users on both traditional BI and emerging AI-enabled analytics capabilities, fostering a culture of self-service and data fluency. • Process InnovationContinuously identify opportunities to replace manual analysis with automated, AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and scalability. What You'll Bring to the Team • 5+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or a related field • Strong SQL and experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred) • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ELT processes • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude or similar) and interest in applying them to analytics workflows • Ability to translate complex data (including AI-generated outputs) into clear business insights • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment • Strong understanding of data governance and the importance of trusted, consistent definitions Where You'll Work • We are currently only looking for candidates who reside in the Greater Toronto Area and can access our co-working space in Downtown Toronto for the occasional get-togethers. • Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We are HQ'd in Canada, with established hub regions around the world where we hire from. • Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in C🇦 Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), GB London, and I🇳 India (specifically in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru). • The majority of our team is based in ON and BC, which means these employees live and work remotely within a 300km radius of Toronto (within Ontario) and Vancouver (Within BC). • We offer flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the option of working out of our convenient co-working space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work centrally in Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you! • You'll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK, India, and North America (we're just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work  during the workday • We encourage asynchronous collaboration to effectively work as a global #OneTeam!
