Full Job Description
About the Role:
Supports upstream cell culture process development activities for biologic drug candidates from early development through commercialization by executing well-defined experiments, generating high-quality data, and contributing to process development studies under the guidance of senior scientists. Develops foundational expertise in mammalian cell culture, upstream process development, and bioprocess technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project and platform objectives.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Perform routine cell culture process development experiments using established scientific methods and laboratory procedures under the guidance of senior scientists
  • Execute mammalian cell culture studies to support upstream process development, process characterization, and technology development activities
  • Generate accurate, reproducible experimental data and perform routine data analysis to support project objectives
  • Assist with upstream platform development, process scale-up, and technology transfer activities
  • Support experimental planning and execution for defined studies while learning principles of experimental design and process development
  • Contribute to routine process optimization and characterization studies under supervision
  • Identify routine experimental issues and communicate observations to senior team members for evaluation and resolution
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including benchtop bioreactors and associated instrumentation
  • Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and equipment according to established procedures
  • Document laboratory activities, experimental results, and observations in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and company standards
  • Prepare data summaries, technical reports, protocols, and presentation materials with guidance from senior scientists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to support project deliverables and departmental objectives
  • Follow laboratory safety practices and maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline and 0-2 years of relevant research or industry experience OR
  • Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline; relevant laboratory or internship experience preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of mammalian cell culture techniques and aseptic laboratory practices
  • Laboratory experience with cell culture, bioreactors, or related upstream process development techniques gained through academic research, internships, or industry experience
  • Basic understanding of biological and engineering principles applicable to upstream process development
  • Ability to follow established laboratory procedures and generate accurate, reproducible experimental results
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis and communicate experimental findings clearly
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while receiving guidance from senior scientists
  • Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and willingness to develop new technical skills
  • Ability to manage assigned responsibilities and meet established timelines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and standard scientific data analysis software
  • Exposure to cGMP principles, statistical analysis, high-throughput cell culture technologies, or design of experiments (DOE) is desirable but not required
  • Maintains confidentiality of intellectual property and proprietary information

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $35.35-$47.34. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
