JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

The Sr Analyst Category Management supports the Category Managers for Publix and other East Coast customers to drive sales, share, equity, and coffee category growth. This role influences category strategy utilizing coffee and beverages industry knowledge, shopper insights, and business analytics. Additionally, the position identifies growth opportunities via best-in-class analytics including assortment optimization and space planning. Working cross functionally with our corporate based team to drive results is a key success factor. Are you ready to make your impact?

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
  • Analyze category trends and business opportunities, providing recommendations that benefit both our business and our customers.
  • Deliver actionable business insights to enhance distribution, shelving, and quality merchandising (promotion).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in syndicated data sources and tools, such as Circana and/or Nielsen, and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Serve as the team's expert in key analytical tools, collaborating with the HQ Category Management team to develop new insights.
  • Lead category reviews to establish optimal assortments and recommend best-in-class aisle flow strategies.
  • Enhance the Coffee & Beverage Division's Omnichannel business with customers, including increasing share of search, building online engagement & driving shopper loyalty in partnership with internal Shopper Marketing and eCommerce teams.
  • Utilize tools and data to generate new insights and translate the company's category narrative into customer-specific growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrate initiative and intellectual curiosity to explore the data and insights to develop actionable insights and push new and creative thought
  • Be an expert data driven storyteller that delivers the insights in high impact visualizations
  • Category Strategy Review deep dive analytics cultivation and customer presentation creation
  • Collaborate with Category Management teams across Headquarters and Field cross-functional teams


BUSINESS SUPPORT
  • Develop custom reporting using customer data and advanced analytics
  • Interprets company category story into customer specific opportunities for growth


PLANNING AND EXECUTION
  • With support and coaching from Manager, Category Development and customer team, develops and executes annual strategic priorities and goals category strategy and vision
  • Support customer team JBP and other preparation for meetings with buyer, as appropriate


SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in category, sales, marketing, etc.
  • 3+ years work experience in Analyst, Category Development, Sales Support roles in the CPG industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
  • Experience in syndicated data (Circana/Nielsen etc.) preferred
  • Experience working with large datasets.
