What You'll Be Doing

This role as Sr. Analyst on the Accounting Reconciliation team is responsible for the integrity of the financial results in accordance to GAAP (IFRS or local GAAP as applicable) and management accounting policies. This involves creating financial analysis, interacting with auditors - internal & external and other accounting related activities such as investigating report discrepancies, overseeing the completion of the month-end reconciliation and supporting the team with ad-hoc requirements and project initiatives.

How You'll Succeed
  • Manage monthly reconciliations - provide oversight and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled appropriately for Wealth LOB & LE. Will also need to oversee/create new reconciliations where they do not exist e.g. CIBC SI and Investor Services Inc dealer's settlement accounts.
  • Problem solving - you persist to investigate and understand end to end processes beyond our team to identify gaps and recommend solutions that are optimal for the bank.
  • Communication skills - Good ability to prepare and present financial information effectively articulating issues/recommendations via your analysis and assessment of financial results and maintain a close working relationship with all your business partners across the bank.
  • Ensure Finance-owned SOX controls (including suspense accounts) are effective and performed on regular basis to identify/manage exposure to risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Data analytics - support accounting transformation and analysis through use of modern data mining techniques and data analytics tool.
  • Continuous improvement -growth mindset and sharing of ideas and opportunities, constantly looking for ways to improve the processes you own or contribute to.
