Full Job Description
Provide accounting support of a specialized nature to achieve department and corporate goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial information required for internal and external reporting, fiscal planning, and special project evaluation. May supervise or direct activities of accounting staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Common job activities are listed below; actual position responsibilities may vary. Refer to your manager or human resources for specific duties and performance expectations.

The position provides support of a specialized nature, utilizing advanced professional accounting expertise including any of the following duties and responsibilities:
  1. Financial reporting and analysis (50-55%)
    • Prepare financial and managerial reports and develop supporting documentation.
    • Research, analyze and interpret financial results. Provide analysis and summaries of financial statements.
    • Prepare schedules and provide support to external auditors to ensure the accuracy of information and compliance with established accounting principles and company policies.
    • Assist with the development of financial models.
    • May assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  2. General ledger accounting (30-35%)
    • Verify and review general ledger activity. Investigate, correct, and follow-up on any inaccuracies identified.
    • Prepare month-end journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements including more complex accounts.
  3. Other accounting activities (20-25%)
    • Enter and maintain transaction information for planning and project activity.
    • Recommend procedural and system changes to ensure efficient processing of accounting data.
    • May provide work direction and training and/or supervision to assigned accounting staff.
    • Assist with the design and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure adherence to accepted accounting principles.
    • May prepare tax returns.
    • Cross-train to serve as backup for accounting staff.
    • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business preferred, equivalent work experience and education will be considered.

Experience:
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis with demonstrated competency in financial reporting, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting and ad hoc reporting.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computers and software. Proficiency in Excel. Demonstrated experience and understanding of financial reporting and analysis applications.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus, and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Other (licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility/OT, travel, etc.):
  • CPA preferred

Wage: $83,000 - $98,000 annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience. Potential for annual discretionary bonus.
