Sport Development Coordinator Employment Type: Regular Full Time Hours of Work: 35 Job location: Rockway Golf Course Pay: $76,787 To $95,984 Annual Grade/Band: 08 Job Posting Start Date: 8/20/26 Job Posting End Date: 8/27/26 Job Description: Overview Liaises and works cooperatively with athletes, sports groups, municipal staff, professional associations, tourism groups, and the general public to ensure availability of sport and fitness programs to Kitchener residents; provides guidance and support services to ensure sustainability of affiliated groups; works with City staff to ensure optimal facility design and usage; and supports and facilitates the operation of Budd Park indoor soccer facility. Responsibilities 37 Coordinates the operation of Budd Park indoor soccer facility, including creating and implementing operating procedures; assisting in the recruitment, training, and scheduling of Sport staff; and providing on-call support. 37 Liaises with affiliated and non-affiliated sports organizations to ensure delivery of community sports and recreation programs in the areas of strategic planning, board governance, operating policies and procedures. 37 Identifies and coordinates workshop opportunities for all direct and in-direct volunteers associated with affiliated minor sports groups in collaboration with city liaison staff. 37 Establishes individual work plan in consultation with the Manager of Sport Development and Golf to achieve program goals and objectives set out in the Section's annual objectives and operational plans and participate in the development of the Sections Business Plan. 37 Assists the Manager in preparing annual budgets and staffing requirements for programs or service in area of responsibility. 37 Supports the Manager with managing the affiliation/policy requirements, documentation and other departmental grant agreements. 37 Works collaboratively with sport groups and other liaison staff, Facility Bookings, Parks Operations, Community Arena's, and others to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all community sport and recreation programs. 37 Engages with other professionals, municipalities, provincial sport organizations and other service providers to ensure creativity, skill development and stays current with trends, practices, processes and procedures within the field. 37 Performs other related dutes as assigned. Education 37 Minimum 2 year diploma in a related field (e.g. Recreation, Sport Administration/Management, Kinesiology, Business, or Physical Education), or 2 year specilized post-secondary program. Experience 37 Minimum 2 years of related experience such as facilitation, working with sport, community and/or other diverse groups/associations and volunteer committees/boards. Skill Equivalency (if applicable) Applicants will be considered if a combination of their education and experience meets the following pre-determined skill equivalency: 37 Grade 12 Diploma plus up to 1 year of post-secondary courses with minimum 4 years' related and relevant experience or 3-Year Degree/Diploma with minimum 1 year related and relevant experience.
