QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field and/or 3-5 years related experience.

- IAT Level II is required (i.e. Security+)
- Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CISSP, RHCSA, RHCSE certifications preferred
- Strong technical proficiency in encryption technologies (e.g., IPsec, TLS), virtual private networks (VPNs), firewalls, and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Experience with commercial security products from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, or Juniper, and familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS 140-2).
- Experience with commercial mobility and wireless products like Cisco and Aruba.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement secure, scalable solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $130,000 to $200,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Navy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- CSfC solution architecture and design. Lead and contribute to the design and engineering of CSfC solutions across the portfolio, including capabilities aligned to the MA, MSC, WLAN, and DAR Capability Packages and Enterprise Gray shared infrastructure, applying CSfC principles such as layered dual-tunnel encryption and gray and red network separation.
- Integration across levels. Participate in solution integration at the component, system, and enterprise levels, coordinating across teams, vendors, and government stakeholders to deliver accredited, interoperable capabilities.
- Stakeholder engagement and communication. Engage senior government and program leaders; brief, present, and write for audiences ranging from hands-on engineers to executive decision-makers; and translate complex CSfC and platform-security concepts into clear, actionable guidance and recommendations.
- Platform-security engineering and sustainment. Build, harden, and sustain fielded CSfC solutions on RHEL, including thin-client and gateway build systems, and maintain reproducible image pipelines (osbuild-composer, UEFI/OVMF Secure Boot).
- Linux internals and hardening. Author and maintain system units and boot ordering, SELinux policy and labeling (MCS categories, svirt labeling, relabel-on-boot), FIPS-mode configuration, and RPM packaging.
- Automation and tooling. Develop and maintain automation in production Bash, including strict-mode certificate and VPN state machines with layered configuration, and custom Go command-line tooling built on os/exec, filesystem operations, and orchestration of system utilities.
- Engineer and troubleshoot KVM/QEMU/libvirt environments, including domain XML, qcow2 backing chains, the guest-tooling and virt-* toolchain, and qemu-guest-agent failure modes.
- PKI and cryptographic lifecycle. Implement and sustain CSfC PKI and cryptographic operations, including X.509, EST enrollment, certificate provisioning and re-enrollment lifecycles, and OpenSSL and PKCS#12 operations.
- Classified networking. Configure and troubleshoot classified networking, including nftables, DHCP relay, network namespaces, and IKEv2/IPsec VPN behavior.
- STIG and CSfC compliance. Apply, validate, and document DoD STIG hardening and CSfC Capability Package compliance controls across solutions and sites.
- Documentation and technical leadership. Produce architecture and engineering documentation, serve as a CSfC subject-matter expert, and mentor engineers on platform-security and CSfC best practices.
