Description:

System Administrator to support and maintain mission-critical enterprise infrastructure environments. This position is ideal for a hands-on systems professional with expertise in Solaris and Linux administration, enterprise storage solutions, backup and recovery operations, and cybersecurity compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of large-scale production systems supporting critical customer missions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Solaris and Linux systems in enterprise production environments.
• Support and manage IBM Enterprise Storage platforms to ensure system availability and performance.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup solutions for backup and recovery operations.
• Perform system patching and package management using YUM repositories and established maintenance processes.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation activities using Nessus and related security tools.
• Implement and maintain secure system configurations in accordance with organizational security requirements.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement performance improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to support infrastructure upgrades and incident response efforts.
• Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance artifacts.
• Support system hardening, audit readiness, and security compliance initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience), plus 3+ years of Solaris System Administration experience and 3+ years of Linux System Administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, OLVM, or similar).
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Experience supporting IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, Nessus vulnerability management, and Linux package management using YUM.
• Strong understanding of Linux security, system hardening, compliance practices, troubleshooting, and scripting with Bash, Python, or similar languages.

Desired Qualifications:

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or a comparable Linux administration certification.
• Experience supporting highly available enterprise environments with disaster recovery requirements.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments and modern systems management practices.

• U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph.

This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
