Role: Engineer; Software Testing and Quality Location: Washington, DC 20260 Position: 2 Duration: Long Term Role Overview: We are seeking experienced Software Testing and Quality Engineers with 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development. The ideal candidates will have strong experience in both manual and automated testing, business process analysis, API testing, production validation, test automation, and test management. Candidates should have hands on experience with automation technologies such as Python and Selenium, along with strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and Agile or Waterfall delivery environments. Experience with AI based test automation is highly desirable. Required Certification: Candidates should have one of the following certifications: • ISTQB CTAL TAE • ISTQB CT AI • Similar recognized software testing or test automation certification Key Responsibilities: • Elicit, analyze, and document business processes and software requirements • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements • Develop comprehensive manual and automated test scripts • Create automation scripts using Python, Selenium, AFT, or similar testing technologies • Perform Customer Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing • Execute test cases and document test results and supporting test artifacts • Perform production validation through smoke testing, regression testing, and functional testing • Validate application functionality following releases, enhancements, and production changes • Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test evidence • Perform API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools • Validate data files and formats including CSV, XML, and JSON • Perform database validation using relational databases and SQL queries • Support test management activities across Agile and Waterfall methodologies • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve defects • Analyze defects and support root cause investigation • Maintain requirements traceability and testing documentation • Support production releases and post deployment validation • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall quality • Evaluate and utilize AI based testing technologies where appropriate • Prepare testing status reports and communicate risks, issues, and progress to stakeholders Required Skills: • 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development • Strong experience eliciting and documenting business processes and requirements • Experience analyzing business processes and recommending improvements • Strong manual and automated testing experience • Experience creating automated test scripts using Python, Selenium, AFT, or similar tools • Experience with Customer Acceptance Testing or User Acceptance Testing • Experience with smoke, regression, functional, and production validation testing • Experience documenting test results and maintaining test artifacts • Experience working with CSV, XML, and JSON data formats • Experience working with relational databases • Experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools • Experience with software test management • Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies • Experience using test automation tools • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Scripting Skills: Hands on experience with one or more of the following: • Python • SQL • Java Microsoft 365 Skills: Experience with Microsoft 365 tools including: • MS Excel • MS Word • MS Project • MS Visio • MS Access • Workflow tools Preferred Skills: • Experience with Mail.DAT specifications • Experience with Mail.XML specifications • Understanding of electronic mailing data exchange standards • Experience with AI based or AI assisted test automation tools • Experience implementing intelligent automation within software testing • Experience with advanced Selenium or Python automation frameworks • Experience with API automation • Experience with test management and requirements traceability • Experience supporting large scale enterprise or government technology programs Education Requirement: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
