Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Integration Engineer - Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The selected Software Integration Engineer will provide support for the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product. Will be responsible for developing and integrating software into a single system. Will also coordinate execution of Software integration tests to verify system operation, and be responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration.
  • Document and verification of all installation and configuration steps to be delivered to the customer.
  • Task and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members.
  • Develop test plans/procedures for software integration tests.
  • Develop installation scripts to automate system installation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.
  • Fundamental understanding of the systems engineering process and experience with system development of a software-centric product (preferably with a system in a system of systems type environment)
  • Experience generating scripts and a fundamental understanding of software development with the ability to troubleshoot and support software integration efforts
  • Strong critical-thinking and solid problem-solving skills coupled with an innate desire to learn
  • Detail oriented at both the macro and micro levels along with a willingness to assess software from both perspectives
  • Well-organized and intrinsically motivated to work with limited direction in a dynamic team environment, often requiring the ability to successfully juggle competing priorities
  • Strong verbal/written communications skills to work effectively in a small technical team environment with both collocated and geographically dispersed team members
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Desire and curiosity to learn more about the components of GMD and how they fit together and communicate.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Security+ certification
  • GMD experience
  • Missile Defense Agency (MDA) experience with application software and systems that contain Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), logical and mathematical solutions in a Linux environment
  • C++, Java, ADA


Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
