Full Job Description
Job Duties: Collaborate with product managers to design and implement Ads products. Work closely with the platform and data teams while building new features. Lead the processes needed to improve operational stability, including improving code quality, delivering dashboards and data visualizations. Build extensible components that align with the product objectives. Support day-to-day project management tasks, including communicating project updates, managing project timelines, and overseeing project execution. Design, develop, and operate backend microservices and APIs that power ads, including resolution, validation, and transformation across the advertising data models. Build and maintain distributed, horizontally scalable backend systems that serve high-volume production traffic, including data storage, caching, and instrumentation for observability and reliability. Design and execute A/B experiments and feature rollouts to evaluate product changes, and partner with data science teams to measure ad performance and inform product decisions. Full-time telecommuting is an option.

Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or related quantitative discipline and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Special Skills Requirement: Backend services design and development in Java, Go or Python; Distributed, horizontally scalable backend system design for high-traffic production workloads (e.g., real-time ad serving); Service-to-service API design using RPC or HTTP-based frameworks (e.g., gRPC, Thrift, GQL); Deployment and operation of production services on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including container orchestration platforms (e.g., Amazon ECS or Kubernetes); Data modeling and schema design for relational and NoSQL datastores (e.g., MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB), including query optimization and indexing; A/B testing and feature-flagged experimentation in production environments; Production observability instrumentation, including metrics, logs, and request tracing (e.g., Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray), for incident diagnosis and resolution; Automated unit, integration, and functional testing integrated into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines; Backend system development in digital advertising technology, including ad ingestion, ad serving, or ad-targeting workflows; and Technical design and end-to-end delivery leadership of multi-quarter projects, including authoring technical design documents and driving cross-functional execution with product, data, and platform partners.

The base pay range for this position is: $229,000.00 - $267,100.00 USD
