PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend service and API using Java and Spring Framework. Collaborate with internal teams to work on different projects. Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and end to end support. Manage on-call responsibilities to monitor and resolve production issues. Contribute to team knowledge sharing by documenting processes, mentoring junior developers, and participating in technical discussions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design (1 year).

2. Experience with object-oriented programming languages (1 year).

3. Experience in backend development with data structures and algorithms (1 year).

4. Experience designing and implementing APIs or service interfaces between software components (1 year).

5. Experience with SQL or relational databases, including queries and data modeling (1 year).

6. Experience with application monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization tools (1 year).

7. Experience with test-driven development methodologies and writing unit tests and automated test suites (1 year).

8. Experience developing and deploying code in an environment without dedicated QA, including self-testing, releasing, and monitoring production systems (1 year).

9. Experience working in Agile or iterative software development environments, including sprint planning and collaborative delivery cycles (1 year).

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

Austin, TX | Salary: $119,642.00-180,000.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
