Key responsibilities- Build, maintain, and evolve backend services that support Offer/BIN experiences
- Drive CATY migration work across service and dependency boundaries
- Partner with adjacent teams on API evolution, integration changes, and rollout planning
- Improve service reliability, observability, and operational readiness during migration
- Identify and reduce technical debt that slows Offer modernization delivery
- Support safe launches through testing, monitoring, and phased rollout practices
Required qualifications- Strong backend engineering fundamentals
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering
- Experience building and operating production services in Java or similar backend stacks
- Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and service-to-service integration
- Experience debugging production issues using logs, metrics, and traces
- Ability to work across teams to drive delivery on multi-system efforts
- Strong ownership, execution, and communication skills
Preferred qualifications- Experience with platform or service migrations
- Experience modernizing legacy systems without breaking downstream consumers
- Familiarity with performance, reliability, and scalability concerns in high-traffic systems
- Experience with rollout planning, backward compatibility, and risk mitigation
- Exposure to ecommerce or transactional systems
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$118,000 - C$157,500
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
