About the Team:

The Publishing and Origination team builds and operates core services for WBD's global live streaming platform. The team is responsible for systems that package live media, publish audio/video/subtitle segments, generate live HLS and DASH manifests, and provide reliable playback delivery for high-scale consumer playback experiences. If it's happening live and it's on HBO Max, the Publishing and Origination team is getting that content to customers.

Day-to-day Experience:

  • Participate in daily 30-minute team standups to provide progress updates, identify blockers, and align on priorities.


  • Collaborate with peers through code reviews, contributing to and maintaining high standards of code quality using GitHub.


  • Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning, backlog refinement, and work prioritization activities.


  • Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive projects forward and deliver high-quality solutions.


  • Contribute to a shared on-call rotation, providing 24x7 production support for one week at a time on a rotating basis across the team.


  • Communicate effectively across teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful project delivery.


Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient with 4+ years of experience in one or more modern programming language such as Go, JavaScript/Typescript, Java, C#, Python


  • Strong understanding in data modeling and data structure fundamentals


  • Proficient in API design and service-oriented architecture


  • Developing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent


  • Experience with source control, code review, build systems, and CI/CD practices


  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as code like CloudFormation or Terraform

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $102,830.00 - $190,970.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
