As a Software Engineer II, you'll play a key role in developing, enhancing, and supporting software solutions that power Badger Meter’s products and services. You'll work across the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve customer experiences, and deliver high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and features.
- Support existing products through troubleshooting, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Execute product verification and validation testing and help define test plans.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and specifications.
- Implement engineering changes and software enhancements.
- Investigate customer-reported issues and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, quality, marketing, and technical support teams.
- Contribute to project planning, schedules, risk assessment, and technical decision-making.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and project teams, with opportunities to lead portions of projects.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for beta testing and issue investigation (5-10%).
What You'll BringRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience with C#, Python, Java, and/or JavaScript.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a collaborative environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with React.js, SQL Server, AWS, Elasticsearch, GitHub, Jira, HTML/CSS, or Pandas.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
