Your roleWe are seeking an experienced and ambitious Full Stack Software Engineer passionate about building high-quality, large-scale web and desktop-native applications using modern frontend and backend technologies. You will take end-to-end ownership of significant features, driving architectural decisions, tackling complex technical hurdles, and ensuring high code quality. Your expertise will enrich the team, including through the active mentorship of junior engineers. You will proactively collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional partners to advocate for technical initiatives that improve team efficiency, system stability, and long-term maintainability.
This position reports to our Engineering Manager and is looking for someone to join the team in our Vancouver, Canada, Office.
What you'll do- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality features across Dialpad's web and desktop-native applications.
- Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using best practices along with unit & integration tests.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Ensure that features are shipped on time and with the highest quality.
- Participate in a rotating team on-call schedule to quickly diagnose and resolve critical issues, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and use common components and practices across Dialpad products.
- Partner closely with Product, Growth, and cross-functional stakeholders to build and optimize monetization, signup, onboarding, activation, and expansion experiences across Dialpad products.
- Develop experimentation and feature-flagging capabilities that enable rapid iteration, A/B testing, and data-driven product decisions.
- Build scalable platform capabilities that empower other teams to launch and iterate on growth initiatives efficiently and safely.
- Design and implement solutions that improve conversion, customer adoption, retention, and operational efficiency while maintaining high reliability and performance.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate development, improve operational insights, and enhance customer-facing experiences.
- Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their skills and expertise.
Skills you'll bring- Strong experience with Python, Vue/React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, GraphQL, GCP, or other cloud infrastructures.
- Practical experience designing, deploying, and optimizing solutions leveraging serverless computing, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with building reusable and modular components for both frontend and backend.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL schemas.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven ability to design, build, launch, and maintain at least two large-scale production systems.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience leveraging modern AI-powered developer tools and workflows (e.g., LLM-assisted development, code generation, debugging, and productivity tooling) to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.
- Familiarity with integrating AI/LLM-based capabilities into applications, including prompt-driven workflows, AI-assisted user experiences, or third-party AI platform integrations, is a plus.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
