Role Details

Location: San Francisco, CA. This role is based out of our San Francisco HQ and is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $150,000–$260,000 based on level in addition to equity & benefits.

• Gem engineers work closely with product managers and designers to influence product direction, company roadmap, and business outcomes.
• We stay close to customers by joining customer calls, and reading customer feedback.
• We enjoy shipping features, moving fast, and being scrappy.
• We are receptive to feedback and continuously work on improving both our product and our craft.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

• Own product features end-to-end alongside your product manager, engineering manager and designer.
• Work primarily with Typescript, React, Python, GraphQL, Node, PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with engineers on your team and across Gem on code reviews, data model, architecture, and product decisions.
• Stay close to our customers.
• Embody our company values of ownership, velocity, customer centricity, diversity and transparency.
• Influence decisions and have direct impact on business outcomes.

• You have industry experience as a software engineer, building user-facing products.
• You move with velocity and invest in improving your craft.
• You are good at driving solutions by communicating and working cross-functionally.
