Full Job Description
In this role, you will support and enhance critical enterprise applications that serve Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and other Corporate Services partners across the organization. You'll be part of a highly visible team responsible for application development, modernization, integration, automation, and production support across a portfolio of primarily .NET-based applications. Day-to-day work includes troubleshooting production issues, supporting application and server environments, developing APIs and integrations, optimizing large-scale SQL data processes, and partnering directly with business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that support evolving regulatory and operational needs. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic modernization initiatives, including front-end application enhancements, AI-driven workflow capabilities, and the onboarding of new business areas onto existing enterprise platforms.

Ideal candidates for the role will bring:
  • Strong full-stack .NET development experience.

  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments, troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues, and supporting business-critical systems.


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with SQL Server, API development and integrations, cloud-based data environments, and server administration/support.
  • Experience working with large data sets, optimizing database queries, and supporting enterprise applications is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled solutions and workflow automation.


Note:
  • This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required approximately one week per month.
  • This role supports a combination of application development, modernization initiatives, integrations, production support, and new business onboarding efforts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
  • Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
  • May serve one or more project team roles, such as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead, for small to medium efforts or manage phases of medium to large efforts.
  • Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments.
  • Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
  • Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.


Job Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.


Experience
  • 1 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required
  • 3 years - Systems and programming experience required
  • 1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST.


Skills/Certifications
  • Proven skill with information technology in use at BCBST is required
  • Proven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated success in leading large and complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel.
