Essential Responsibilities:Job Duties: The Software Engineer - Backend will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems; building programs for web servers that support websites and online services; creating and managing APIs, handling databases, and making sure everything runs smoothly and securely; application development within the full software development lifecycle (SDLC); implementing a comfortable development environment with Docker and Kubernetes; utilizing cloud platforms Google Cloud and AWS to deploy and manage applications; designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient microservices architecture; set up automated workflows to make development and updates more efficient; develop and maintain services in PHP; Backend Development with Golang; develop microservices architecture in Go; database management; implement Postgres multi-tenancy architecture to improve security for Users' Data; managing microservice applications in a Kubernetes ecosystem; system architecture; cloud deployment; adopt Protobuf technology and practices, which improve API stability for all microservices; implement gRPC to improve security and speed for service-to-service communication; optimize SQL queries with speed and security improvements; and, collaborates effectively with cross functional teams, including product managers, architects, designers, and QA engineers; communicates technical concepts clearly and contributes to team knowledge sharing; and, applies security best practices in both code and infrastructure.Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Basic Qualifications:Requires at least a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Applied Computer Science plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Software Engineer, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:Must possess 5 years of experience with each of the following: Developing system-wide data flow diagrams and architectural documentation; Building and managing robust, end to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; Defining clear API contracts and schemas using specifications like OpenAPI and Protocol Buffers; Implementing Cloud API gateways to handle routing, authentication, and rate limiting; Implementing asynchronous processing and background job execution with message brokers; Integrating third-party services and APIs securely and efficiently; Designing and normalizing relational database schemas for Postgres and MySQL; Managing database schema migrations and versioning across environments; Utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate infrastructure setup; Implementing centralized logging solutions using the ELK Stack; Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in application code, databases, and infrastructure; Operating effectively within Agile/Scrum processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and iterative delivery of high quality software; and, utilizing all of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, Protobuf, PHP, Go, Golang , Postgres, Microservices, AWS, Google Cloud, Agile methodologies, SQL, Gitlab, gRPC, and Terraform or CloudFormation. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
