Position Overview

We are seeking a frontend-leaning engineer to help build and scale the user-facing web applications powering Knowtex's AI-driven clinical documentation platform. You will work closely with Platform Engineering and customer-facing teams to build accessible, intuitive, and performant user experiences that support real-time voice AI workflows across enterprise healthcare environments.

This role is ideal for an engineer who has experience operating on small, high-impact teams with significant ownership and autonomy, including end-to-end execution on critical product features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise strong engineering judgement in evolving or breaking from existing patterns when appropriate
  • Design and build user experiences, including complex audio-centric workflows
  • Develop accessible, intuitive, and performant user interfaces
  • Develop secure and performant APIs and supporting infrastructure for web and mobile applications
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer delivery teams to prioritize bug fixes, improvements, and new feature development
  • Participate meaningfully in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews
  • Contribute to shared application infrastructure, component library, design system, and developer experience
  • Improve system reliability, observability, and performance
  • Handle engineering escalations from customer-facing teams during on-call shifts, including investigating issues outside of your typical areas of responsibility

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience building production web applications
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript
  • Experience building applications with React and Node.js
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalability concepts
  • Strong debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare technology or regulated environments
  • Experience building real-time or highly interactive web applications
  • Experience operating effectively with limited product design support
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB
