Software Engineer
The Software Engineer position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex cloud-native applications. This role requires strong TypeScript and AWS expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clean, scalable solutions.
Job Duties- Design and develop serverless backend services using TypeScript on AWS Lambda, fronted by AWS API Gateway with JWT token authorization.
- Build and maintain React / Vite applications hosted on AWS CloudFront, implementing complex multi-step user flows with global state management.
- Integrate with enterprise systems and third-party APIs using authentication patterns to enable end-to-end business workflows.
- Manage shared infrastructure using AWS CDK - provisioning Lambda functions, API Gateways, DynamoDB tables, and CloudFront distributions as code.
- Design and implement data persistence patterns using DynamoDB and MongoDB, following established conventions and PII masking requirements.
- Participate in feature flag-driven delivery, enabling progressive rollouts and safe production experiments.
- Collaborate with team members on architecture, code review, and design of new functionalities across multiple shared packages and services.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated end-to-end tests, enforcing TDD practices and maintaining coverage across all critical user flows.
- Monitor, triage, and resolve production incidents by tracing requests through Splunk or Cloudfront.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (iteration planning, retrospectives) and contribute to backlog refinement with engineering estimates and technical risk assessment.
Qualifications- Required: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
- Required: Demonstrated experience building and deploying serverless architectures on AWS - Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudFront, CDK.
- Required: Solid testing discipline - unit tests, integration tests, and experience with Vitest or Jest.
- Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working in a pull-request-driven, code-review culture.
- Desired: Proficiency with RESTful API design, JWT-based authentication, and OAuth2/OIDC flows.
- Desired: Experience with automation testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) for end-to-end test coverage.
- Experience integrating with enterprise APIs (e.g., Mulesoft, or equivalent middleware/integration platforms) is a plus.
- Knowledge of PII masking, data privacy best practices, and secure-by-default coding standards.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and the ability to write precise, context-aware prompts to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and security standards is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
