About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Define, design, and implement a highly scalable E2E automation testing system. Collaborate with architects, product management, engineering, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions adherence to development goals and principles. Produce clear, well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Strictly monitor DevOps and testing metrics of applications across eBay payments organization for reliability and velocity purpose. Strictly monitor production bugs across eBay payments and manage to shorten the average bug fix time and drive down the overall bug counts. Work closely with eBay research team and academies to seek machine learning approaches to project hygiene, development velocity, quality improvement in eBay payments organization. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Programming: Java (J2EE, concurrency), Python (ML/DS), JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js), Kotlin (Android).
2. Backend: Spring Boot, Flask/FastAPI, Node.js (Express.js); ML serving (TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe); GPU inference (ONNX Runtime, TensorRT).
3. Frontend: ReactJS (hooks, context API), Redux; JS/TS; tooling (Webpack, Babel, Jest, React Testing Library).
4. Databases: MSSQL, Oracle; MongoDB, DynamoDB; Aurora (distributed SQL); Redis; Kafka Streams; Snowflake.
5. ML & DS: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Spark MLlib; deep learning (transformers, TorchVision, Hugging Face); reinforcement learning; scalable training & inference (GPU/TPU, TensorRT, DeepSpeed); MLOps (Kubeflow, MLflow); graph mining (NetworkX, Neo4j).

7. Computer Architecture & Systems: Systems programming, memory models, cache efficiency, concurrency, parallelism.
8. Software Security & Reliability: Secure coding (validation, memory safety); penetration testing (OWASP ZAP); reverse engineering (Ghidra); vulnerability analysis (Nessus); cryptography (OpenSSL).
9. SDLC & Practices: Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins; JUnit, pytest; Selenium, Playwright, WebdriverIO; Agile/Scrum; static analysis (SonarQube); CI/CD pipelines.
10. System Design: Distributed systems; service architectures (microservices, SOA); API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL); scalability (caching, load balancing); consistency & consensus (CAP theorem, Paxos/Raft).
Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Experience can be gained through academic coursework, scholastic achievement, or work experience.
Salary: $187,741.00-254,200.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Details
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
