About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Information Security Engineer in Washington, D.C.
What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Investigate computer and information security incidents to determine the extent of compromise to systems, using experience with notable event triage, host forensics, network analysis, cloud technologies, and Saas platforms. Evaluate the current firewalls and systems in place for preventing cybersecurity threats, and develop strategies to strengthen security and user privacy. Identify and respond to threat signals for evaluation. Research and report on the risks associated with intelligence-driven signals. Respond to escalated events from security tooling to notify accountable parties and secure impacted systems. Collaborate with the 'detection and response' group for incident management. Collect and analyze data regarding attempted and successful efforts to compromise system security and design countermeasures. Ideate new solutions using the latest research on cybersecurity techniques, tactics, and procedures. Reporting - Prepare and distribute reports regarding the latest cybersecurity countermeasures implemented into systems, with detailed instructions on proper system usage and disaster recovery best practices. Serve as the primary liaison between the security team and other departments, clearly communicating technical concepts and solutions to executive leadership that are compliant with security laws and standards. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:Minimum Requirements: Five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
- Conducting large-scale investigations and utilizing big data tools - Hadoop and MongoDB (5 years)
- Build technical capabilities to facilitate corporate mobile and laptop investigations (5 years)
- Proven track record of expert knowledge of operating systems, file systems and memory on Windows, MacOS and Linux (5 years)
- Building investigative automation tools and processes (5 years)
- Proven track record of experience with an interpreted language (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby) (5 years)
Salary: $169,978.00-228,600.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional DetailsBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
