What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Collaborate to invent, design, and implement scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions on the platform side. Assist eBay's product teams with efficient testing sequences to release their changes to production faster. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Apply engineering proficiency with core Cs concepts such as common data structures and algorithms, experience with modern DevOps principles and Continuous Delivery, and working knowledge with Kubernetes and Tekton to build, test, and deploy applications across a variety of different environments. Design code solutions that meet the documented business and technical requirements. Identify problem areas in developer experience/productivity areas, write proposals for platform-level solutions, align various stakeholders, design, build, and deliver solutions end to end. Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships, and provide alternative solutions. Design and build RESTful APIs with Spring Boot in support of backend systems. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Networked Systems or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Networked Systems or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

- Large-scale distributed systems (2 years)
- Event-driven applications (1 year)
- RESTful APIs with Spring Boot - Develop and maintain RESTful web services, including authentication, versioning, and monitoring, for internal and external consumers (3 years)
- Scripting languages - Automate deployment, testing, and log analysis with Python/Bash, improving developer productivity and release quality (3 years)
- Backend architecture - Lead architecture reviews, defined service boundaries, and introduced resiliency patterns for mission-critical systems (1 year)
- Design patterns & layered architecture - Apply Domain-Driven Design, Repository, and Factory patterns to maintain a clean separation of concerns and facilitate future scalability (1 year)

Salary: $169,262.00-222,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional DetailsBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
