eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Develop and maintain monitoring systems to track the health and performance of applications and infrastructure. Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operations and reduce manual interventions. Implement optimizations to improve application speed, reliability, and resource usage. Design, develop and deploy software systems with reliability and fault tolerance in mind. Respond to incidents and outages, working to resolve them quickly and efficiently. Set up alerting mechanisms to notify teams of potential issues before they impact users. Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Conduct post-mortem analyses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. Automate repetitive tasks such as deployments, scaling, and monitoring. Ensure systems can handle increased load and traffic without degradation in performance. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Salary: $187,741.00-254,200.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Details

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
