Software Architect/Engineer 3 - System Security Management

Position Description:

As a Software Architect/Engineer 3, you will serve as a senior level engineering contributor responsible for designing, validating, and enhancing components that support System Security Management. You will help build secure architectures, perform technical analysis, validate system behaviors, and contribute to quality assurance activities that ensure the platform maintains reliability, compliance, and operational readiness.
This position is located in Springfield, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Perform functional and technical analysis supporting secure ERP system operations and workflows.
. Contribute to the design of system components, integrations, and operational architectures supporting security requirements.
. Support evaluation of workflows, identify vulnerabilities or inefficiencies, and recommend corrective engineering improvements.
. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure alignment between architecture, configuration, security controls, and operational procedures.
. Provide technical leadership, participate in architecture reviews, and support the definition of coding, configuration, and system design standards.
. Conduct quality assurance activities, test secure workflows, and review system behaviors for compliance and resiliency.
. Mentor junior analysts and engineers while supporting documentation development such as analysis papers, alternatives analyses, and technical recommendations.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4-7 years of experience in software engineering or systems architecture.
. Active Top Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph required.
. Strong expertise in modern programming languages, distributed systems, cloud native environments, and API focused architectures.
. Demonstrated ability to design enterprise scale solutions, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and drive secure engineering practices.
. Experience performing quality assurance, workflow analysis, or system performance evaluations.
. Strong documentation skills, including creating design diagrams, technical papers, and architectural recommendations.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Active TS/SCI with polygraph
. Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or event driven architectures.
. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, or container orchestration in DevOps environments.
. Background in performance tuning, security architecture, or system resiliency engineering.
. Ability to contribute to enterprise level technical strategy and architectural governance.

To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $218,200.00.
