Full Job Description
The Social Strategist develops social-first strategies that translate brand goals, business problems, audience insights, platform behaviors, cultural trends, and performance learnings into clear, actionable recommendations. They are the day-to-day strategic lead on assigned accounts - defining how brands show up across social channels, supporting social-native creative work, and serving as a reliable, informed partner to both clients and internal teams. What You Will Be Doing • Own the development of social strategy deliverables across assigned brands and campaigns, with senior support where needed. • Define platform roles, content opportunities, audience behaviors, and campaign recommendations. • Translate trends, social listening, and performance data into actionable insights and POVs. • Develop social-first briefs with clear insight, inspiration, and strategic direction. • Partner with creative teams to ensure ideas are platform-native, culturally relevant, and strategically sound. • Partner with analysts to use LLMs to develop automated social reports highlighting KPIs, benchmarks, and learnings and develop social reporting narratives with actionable takeaways and next steps. • Contribute to integrated campaign planning across organic, paid, influencer, and earned social. • Review social calendars, content plans, and campaign outputs to ensure work ladders back to strategy. • Present strategic recommendations to clients and internal teams. • Partner with and provide day-to-day direction to social marketing managers on content planning and priorities. • Maintain consistent communication with clients as the day-to-day strategic point of contact. Who You Are • 3-5 years of experience at an agency or in-house in a social strategy, content strategy, or community management role. • Strong understanding of social platforms, content formats, audience behaviors, creators, and emerging trends. • Ability to identify cultural and platform opportunities and determine their relevance for brands. • Ability to turn research, data, and social signals into clear strategic recommendations. • Experience building or supporting social strategies for campaigns, always-on content, and channel-specific initiatives. • Strong creative instincts and an understanding of what makes content feel social-first. • Comfort reviewing performance data and pulling out key learnings, implications, and optimization opportunities - and turning that into an action-oriented report. • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills. • Ability to collaborate across creative, media, analytics, account, influencer, production, and client teams. • Confidence contributing to presentations, briefs, and strategic discussions. • Ability to work quickly and pivot when needed. • Comfortable working alongside social marketing managers and providing day-to-day strategic direction. • Comfortable using AI for process efficiency, brainstorming, and research. In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target compensation for this role is $110,000-$140,000 per year. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, qualifications, job performance, level of experience, location, and business needs.
