Full Job Description
Sony Electronics is seeking a Social Media Manager to join our Marketing team and lead social media strategy for Sony Electronics' portfolio of products and brand initiatives. Based at our San Diego headquarters, this role will drive the strategy and execution across Sony Electronics' social channels, bringing together storytelling across categories including Audio, Imaging, INZONE gaming, and other Sony Electronics businesses while strengthening the overall Sony brand presence in social.

We're looking for a strategic and creative social media leader who understands how to build brands, engage audiences, and drive consideration through social. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the evolving social landscape and knows how to translate diverse business and marketing objectives into compelling, culturally relevant social strategies. They understand how audiences behave differently across platforms and can identify the right role for each channel, content format, and storytelling approach. They are an excellent collaborator and communicator who can confidently navigate a complex organization, influence cross-functional partners, and bring new ideas and perspectives to the business. The ideal candidate is also highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable balancing long-term strategy with the fast pace of day-to-day social media.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive social media strategy across all Sony Electronics social channels, ensuring alignment with overarching brand strategy, category priorities, product marketing objectives, and business goals while maintaining a best-in-class presence across the social landscape
  • Develop and execute channel-specific social strategies that drive audience growth, engagement, brand consideration, and business impact, with a nuanced understanding of platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, and emerging channels
  • Oversee day-to-day social media operations, including content publishing, editorial planning, channel management, and cross-functional coordination across business units and broader Sony Electronics brand initiatives
  • Partner closely with the extended marketing teams and business units to translate product launches, campaigns, technology, and consumer insights into compelling social-first storytelling
  • Partner with Brand Marketing to develop and execute social strategies that strengthen Sony Electronics' broader brand narrative, cultural relevance, and consumer connection beyond individual product launches
  • Manage and execute social media amplification investments, developing investment strategies and optimizing spend to maximize performance against business and social KPIs
  • Lead social measurement, reporting, and performance analysis, translating data, audience insights, and platform trends into actionable recommendations that improve content, channel, and investment strategies
  • Identify and proactively bring forward new platforms, technologies, content formats, creative approaches, and cultural opportunities that can help Sony Electronics reach audiences in meaningful and relevant ways
  • Serve as a social media subject matter expert within the organization, educating cross-functional partners on social best practices and helping teams develop campaigns and content optimized for social audiences
  • Monitor social conversations, cultural moments, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for real-time engagement and proactive brand storytelling


Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant social media, digital marketing, or brand marketing experience
  • Experienced team manager and leader
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing social media strategies for established brands
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms, their respective audiences, and evolving social best practices
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $111,108 - $148,143. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus plan, which is based on company performance and is not guaranteed, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave.
