Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC for an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in Construction Team meetings and provide regular on-site project presence. Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs at project site locations.
  • Provide Project Management Team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action and implement follow up assessments.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as Primary Contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Maintain a written log of project site safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
  • Plan, implement, and conduct project site preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree in addition to a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
  • Ability to review confidential US security information.
  • EM-385 Certification.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and industry; standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable.


Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to manage positive and effective interpersonal, functional, organizational relationships with all parties.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and presentation skills. Current CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
  • Experience working under USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
  • Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting
  • Valid Driver License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
  • Ability to travel and provide on-call response required.
