Full Job Description
Ameresco has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our Hawaii Implementation team. In this role, you will oversee the final design, construction, and successful delivery of multimillion-dollar energy efficiency projects. Please Note: This position is based in Oahu, Hawaii, and requires managing construction projects at various locations across the island throughout the duration of each assigned project.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day construction, administrative, and technical execution of energy and energy efficiency projects for public, government, institutional, and commercial customers.
  • Take ownership of construction projects and ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget meeting specifications and quality standards.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and quality management to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain strong customer and subcontractor relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, performance, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams on project design, scope definition, cost estimating, procurement, subcontractor selection, and construction planning.
  • Monitor project performance, schedules, budgets, and forecasts, identifying and mitigating project risks to maintain scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, monitor critical path activities, and provide short-term look-ahead plans to support project coordination.
  • Oversee project financial controls, including job cost tracking, forecasting, documentation, invoicing support, and compliance with company financial policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, regulatory, and safety requirements, promoting a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business management or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management work experience involving complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation, energy services, and renewable technology.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following energy efficiency disciplines preferred: electric transmission systems, power generation equipment, direct digital control (DDC) energy management systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), high-efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technologies, and warranty and service requirements.
  • Proven knowledge of and experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems, engineering principles, and applicable project management regulations, practices, and codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and foster positive client, subcontractor, and business relationships.
  • Strong verbal, written, technical, computer, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project; experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred at the time of hire.
  • CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications preferred at the time of hire.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing issued by the employee's state of residence.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and meet all requirements necessary to obtain and maintain access to government installations, facilities, and project sites.


The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000 - $134,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
