Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Ameresco is looking for a Site Safety Manager to work on a project we have going on in Kansas at Fort Riley. The project will be 2-3 years in length.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects.
  • Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use.
  • Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised.
  • Safety training of all personnel assigned to project.
  • Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items.
  • Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings.
  • Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews.
  • Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations.
  • Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems.
  • Foster and maintains a positive safety culture for the project personnel.
  • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.
  • Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff.
  • Produce Safety Reports of activities performed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Lead Incident/accident Investigations.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar Field.
  • Minimum of 5 years construction industry safety experience on similar projects, ability to effectively communicate safety within a project team.
  • An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years with training for competent person status for at least the following 4 areas of competency: Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Hazardous energy; Confined space; Health hazard recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical and biological agents.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification.
  • EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification.
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • NFPA 70E certification for flash training.


Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills.
  • Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA Compliance.
  • Skillful communicator in both verbal and in written communication.
  • Excellent writing skills with proper grammar.
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach.
