Site Representative based out of our
Markham office. You will join the dynamic Water Division who are active on multi-discipline design and construction projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. This position will provide you with opportunities for advancement and career growth. Working with a dynamic, talented team in a collaborative work environment, you will collaborate with Teams in our Ontario offices. You will be responsible for providing on-site representation and construction services for multi-discipline construction projects in the water and wastewater sector. Project locations will be in the Greater Toronto and Niagara area. This position is a full-time position.

What you'll do- Overseeing the construction of various engineering projects.
- Engaging in daily contract administration duties as well as site inspection duties to monitor Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents.
- Communicating regularly with the Associated Engineering, Client and Contractor project teams
- Supporting the Project Manager and Contract Administration in document control/procurement necessary for the progress of the work
- Serving as Associated Engineering's Representative in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract
- Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
- Complying with and working within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.
Does this sound like you?- Undergraduate degree in Civil, Process or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- -OR- Diploma in Construction, Construction Management, or equivalent field from an accredited college.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with PEO or OACETT, or eligible for registration, is an asset.
- Interest in pursuing a career in construction contract administration and on-site inspection.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a construction role.
- Experience with contract administration and on-site inspection principles, practices, and techniques.
- Experience working for a consulting engineering firm and/or a construction firm is an asset.
- Experience in water / wastewater treatment facility construction is an asset.
- Experience with multi-discipline design coordination and construction is an asset.
- Experience with construction of structural components (Structural steel and concrete) in brown field projects
- Familiarity with applicable local building / construction codes.
- Knowledge of construction contract interpretation and construction acts.
- Experience with monitoring and coordinating activities on a construction project including liaising with the Client, Contractors, Approvals Officers, and Public as required.
- Experience with preparing various contract administration paperwork including agendas, minutes, daily logs, photographic records, request for information, testing reports, change orders, deficiency lists, construction certificates.
- Experience with project scheduling computer software in assessing construction progress compared to tendered schedule.
- Knowledge of construction products, materials, and equipment.
- Inspection and conformance of construction works with contract documents and engineering design.
- Experience with interpretation of specifications, plans, and regulations.
- Experience with preparing engineering sketches, technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation.
- Experience with start-up and commissioning of mechanical systems, as well as post-construction warranty services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
- Valid construction safety certificates - working at heights, confined space, WHMIS, First-Aid, CPR level A, and/or automated external defibrillator (AED) training is an asset.
- Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and the latest version of AutoCAD.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including use of email and videoconferencing technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and collaborative approach to work as a team member to provide solutions to construction issues.
