Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Project Manager to join our team in our Calgary office. In this role you will be responsible for the dynamic Water Division team active on municipal and industrial engineering multi-discipline construction and design projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.

What you'll do:
  • This position is an opportunity to manage large portfolios that may include new water treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs and feeder mains.
  • You will be responsible for providing on-site representation for multi-discipline construction projects in the water and wastewater sector, and for construction inspection coordination between disciplines.
  • Project locations will be in Calgary and the Southern Alberta region.
  • You will be responsible for daily construction management oversight.
  • You will assist with daily contract administration duties as well as coordinating multi-discipline site inspections to monitor Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents.
  • You will communicate regularly with the Client, the Contractor project teams, internal AE design teams, and act as an Ambassador of Associated Engineering in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulations within a COR registered environment.
  • Review and adhere to AE's health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Perform regular formal or informal workplace inspections. In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Does this sound like you?
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution; or a Diploma in Civil, Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Design, Construction, Construction Management, or equivalent field from an accredited college.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or PL.(Eng) with ASET, or eligible for registration within 6 months.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in construction contract administration, construction design coordination, and on- site inspection coordination.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a construction management role.
  • Experience working for a consulting engineering firm and/or a construction firm.
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment facility design and construction is an asset.
  • Experience with multi-discipline design coordination and construction.
  • Experience with monitoring and coordinating activities on a construction project including liaising with the
  • Client, Contractors, Approvals Officers, and Public as required.
  • Experience with preparing various contract administration paperwork including agendas, minutes, daily logs, photographic records, request for information, testing reports, change orders, deficiency lists, construction and certificates.
  • Experience with start-up and commissioning of mechanical systems, as well as post-construction warranty services.
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a committed team player.
  • Valid driver's licence.
