We are seeking an experienced Lead Application Architect with a strong background in banking applications, application modernization, database migration, and software development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DB2 to Oracle migration, application optimization, and modern architecture practices.
The candidate will act as a technical and architectural leader, working closely with business stakeholders, development teams, database teams, and infrastructure teams to define scalable, secure, high-performing solutions for banking applications.
Experience with NetO is highly preferred. The candidate should also have working knowledge of AI/Generative AI technologies and understand how AI can be leveraged to improve application development, modernization, automation, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and modernization of enterprise banking applications.
Define application architecture, technical standards, design patterns, and modernization strategies.
Lead and support DB2 to Oracle database migration initiatives, including application impact assessment and remediation.
Analyze existing applications to identify database dependencies, performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and modernization opportunities.
Work with database teams to ensure applications are fully compatible with Oracle following migration from DB2.
Drive application optimization initiatives to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Review existing application code and recommend architectural and technical improvements.
Provide technical leadership to development teams and participate in architecture/design reviews.
Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Define integration strategies between applications, databases, APIs, and enterprise systems.
Ensure solutions follow enterprise architecture, security, governance, and compliance standards.
Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies.
Lead proof-of-concepts and evaluate new technologies and frameworks.
Collaborate with project managers, product owners, business analysts, developers, QA teams, database administrators, DevOps teams, and infrastructure teams.
Provide technical guidance during development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Establish coding, design, performance, and application development best practices.
Support application modernization and migration roadmaps.
Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI for application development, code modernization, testing, documentation, automation, and operational efficiency.
Mentor senior developers and technical team members and provide architectural direction.
