Shopfloor Supervisor
Location: Midland, TX

The Shopfloor Supervisor - Jenbacher Gas Engines is a recognized expert with a proven track record in project execution, with leadership skills and exceptional organizational abilities, preferred in the area of technical services and/or engineering.

They will be responsible for establishing and managing a state-of-the art local workshop, focusing on both infrastructure development and personnel management. The Shopfloor Supervisor - Jenbacher Gas Engines role demands a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, project management skills and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.

The Shopfloor Supervisor serves as a key steering role within the operational workshop organization. They are responsible for managing the end-to-end process of shop floor order execution, including workforce capacity planning, material planning, and procurement, to ensure efficient and timely production. The Shopfloor Supervisor is responsible for ordering all the parts, consumables, Third Parties and tooling to enable the execution of Overhaul & Repair Jobs.

Responsibilities Include:

Project management
  • Responsibility for creating project specific plans including timelines, budgets and resources, coordinating and executing the INNIO Jenbacher repair and maintenance shop in Midland, TX
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines
  • Support workflow optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of work preparation activities
  • Drive workflow optimization ideas and projects
  • Communicate actively with workshop staff and Sr. management
  • Handle all direct and indirect customer contacts in alignment with the regional Field Service Staff Manager in a proactive and professional way.
  • Prepare and manage work orders including scheduling, operational and quality documentation
  • Create, Update & Review WIP Jobs to track labor and material
  • Ensure availability of materials, tools, and resources for the workshop acting as a key member of the planning and procurement team
  • Coordinate with engineering and logistics to resolve bottlenecks
  • Scheduling and prioritizing daily workshop activities
  • Acting as the interface between engineering, logistics, and workshop teams

Infrastructure development & Operations management
  • Plan, design and oversee the construction and setup of the repair shop in close alignment with the engineering team and Sr. Workshop Manager, ensuring it meets industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the workshop is well-maintained, clean and organized, implementing best practices for facility management.
  • Coordinate with the local Field Service manager to prioritize and manage the inspection, cleaning, repairs of engines and components with the local field service team to ensure the output and delivery of quality product.
  • Set Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the repair shop performance, conduct regular evaluations and steer necessary adaptations accordingly.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability while minimizing stock in alignment with the logistics team.
  • Identify and implement additional business needs and help to develop additional customer value regarding INNIO regional repair capability aligned with the overall HQ repair strategy.

Personnel Management
  • Screen, select, and hire base level workshop personnel and coordinate labor resources with Operations Manager and regional Field Service Staff Manager.
  • Flexibility to attend any other reasonable tasks as required.

Position Requirements:
  • Technical background with equivalent work experience and experience with gas engines in a field environment, ideally in a customer-facing role.
  • Management experience at or greater than 3 years in a repair /workshop or related environment.
  • Business acumen, understanding of P&L, key performance metrics and ability to deliver against targets.
  • ERP System Background (Oracle preferred)
  • Ability to establish priorities and cope with pressure.
  • Good communicator and facilitator.
  • Keen to learn & grow every day to deliver world class service in a very dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good presentation development and broader communication skills that turn concepts into effective structured messages for non-technical internal and external decision makers.
