The Shipping Supervisor will oversee and manage operations in the department to ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed according to schedule. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for various managerial, organizational, and planning-related tasks to ensure a high level of performance in the site's shipment processes.
The Shipping Supervisor works closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, and Maintenance to coordinate workflow between the Finishing and Shipping departments. This position leads shipping personnel while also providing direction, scheduling, coaching, and support to finishing employees to ensure efficient production flow, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Develop and manage shipping schedules while coordinating carrier pickups and customer delivery requirements.
• Supervise daily shipping personnel while providing operational oversight of the Finishing Department.
• Coordinate workflow between Production, Finishing, Quality, and Shipping to maximize efficiency.
• Schedule finishing workloads and assign priorities to meet production and customer deadlines.
• Oversee daily finishing operations including slitting, rewinding, die-cutting, inspection, packaging, and preparation of finished goods for shipment.
• Ensure inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods through audits and cycle counts.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, GMPs, and quality standards.
• Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate employees in Shipping and Finishing.
• Track KPIs including on-time delivery, production output, inventory accuracy, scrap, downtime, and labor productivity.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, shipping, and quality documentation.
• Work with leadership to improve fulfillment accuracy, productivity, packaging standards, and operational performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and manufacturing experience will be considered.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, label manufacturing, print finishing, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping, inventory control, warehouse operations, and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of label finishing processes includes slitting, rewinding, die-cutting, inspection, and packaging.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze operational metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as business needs require.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000
