Mission Operations Engineering Lead with hands-on Integration and Testing experience for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic position supporting simulation and training programs for The Combat Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO3) in Orlando, Florida with the Mission Operations Engineering (MOE) Team. Serco is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of War. Our engineering teams perform a variety of tasks leading to successful integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of complex modeling & simulation (M&S) systems, enabling a worldwide distributed mission training capability.
CAF DMO3 program is part of the US Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) program/effort that allows disparate, geographically distributed, virtual man-in-the-loop simulators to seamlessly conduct daily training exercises as well as occasional training engagements within much larger force packages.
The CAFDMO3 provides tactical warfighters training in synthetic, tactical-level, small team and Large Force Employment (LFE) training in combat environments. The primary focus of CAF DMO distributed training is on fighter/bomber tactics with supporting Command and Control and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) assets.
This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoW Secret Security clearance.In this role, you will:
- Lead the Mission Operations Engineering team and provide regular reporting to program leadership on technical performance, business impact, cost, schedule, risks, and overall program execution.
- Be accountable for the quality and operational effectiveness of deployed systems, ensuring engineering processes, reviews, testing, and risk management activities are executed to deliver mission-ready capabilities.
- Plan and executes frequent CONUS and OCONUS travel to support system deployments, upgrades, sustainment activities, and customer engagements at operational sites.
- Coordinate with customers, site personnel, and program stakeholders to deploy new capabilities, decommission legacy systems, resolve operational issues, and ensure successful transition to fielded solutions.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoW Secret security clearance
- A Bachelor's degree.
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II / Intermediate Proficiency (Security+, CySA+, ISC2 SSCP, GIAC Security Essentials) or ability to obtain certifications within 6 months of start date.
- The ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, and publications.
- The ability to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability for air travel).
- To be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to travel to 50% (CONUS/OCONUS).
- A valid U.S. passport.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience performing computer system and software performance analysis.
- Experience with distributed simulation protocols such as DIS, HLA, TENA.
- Experience with deployment of DoD Systems such as IFF, Radar Systems, Radio Communications, Data Links, Munitions, Electronic Warfare, Aircraft Representation.
- Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function.
