Job Description:
The Service Tools Business Development Specialist is responsible for managing and growing Allison’s Service Tools (Essential Tools and Diagnostic Tools) business. This candidate is responsible for managing all aspects of the business relationship with Allison’s Essential Tools vendor and Diagnostic partners. High-level responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operations with all vendors, identifying and executing growth opportunities, negotiating supplier contracts, holding suppliers accountable for meeting target metrics, and supporting overall business strategy. In addition to the business responsibilities mentioned above, this role requires a baseline technical understanding of Allison propulsion systems, software development, and physical tools development.
The candidate will represent the Global Channel, Service, and Aftermarket functional areas on cross-functional New Product Development teams when new tools are required, or existing tool programs are impacted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Allison tool program suppliers through daily monitoring of metrics, contract and pricing negotiations, and delivery of tool program deliverables.
- Acting as project manager and liaison between Service Engineering and tool vendor in development and validation/testing phases of new tools programs.
- Creating and managing communication plans to effectively inform customers of tool changes.
- Identifying and executing special programs aimed to drive growth in Service Tools revenues, Allison DOC registrations and increase customer value.
- Developing new Allison DOC royalty revenue opportunity by licensing software to all makes diagnostic providers.
- Staying on top of market trends in Diagnostic and Essential Tools to ensure alignment between Allison’s tool offerings and the market.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Performance Measures:
- Hitting deliverable and time-based targets for new tools programs through effective project management.
- Setting target performance metrics for Allison Tools suppliers and holding suppliers accountable for hitting them.
- Growing Service Tools revenues and new product pipeline.
- Increasing Allison DOC registrations and royalty revenues.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness about new tools programs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, other technical field, or Business (MBA is a plus).
- Takes ownership and accountability for success of tools programs. Self-motivated, able to define objectives, set priorities, and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Effectively and clearly communicates with global and cross-functional teams, in both written and verbal means.
- Possesses a mix of both business and technical skills.
Experience:
- Understanding of Allison Service Channel, products, and global support network.
- Project / Program management experience.
- Sales and/or Purchasing Experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills for global cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
- Ability to own, execute, and manage multiple tasks.
- 8 years of experience in related field.
Travel Requirement: Occasional domestic travel (less than 5%)
