DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This opening is in
Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Payloads Modeling, Simulation and Analysis team. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop Payload models to simulate and evaluate hardware performance
Perform model validation of various Payloads through test and analysis
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for missile system payloads
Breakdown complex problems into simpler steps
Perform analysis to support derivation of lower level requirements
Verify Payload specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
Generate Threat Model
Generate and analyze radar and optical signatures of payload objects
Analyze exo and endo-atmospheric trajectories
Generate discrimination algorithms
Review test plans and support testing to ensure proper data objectives are met to validate models
Create analysis documents, verification and validation(V&V) plans, and V&V reports
Present analysis results to both internal and external stakeholders
Interface with AF customer
Interface with intelligence community
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (level 3) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (level 4).
Basic Qualifications:
T03: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
T04: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6years), with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Must have ability to obtain DoD Top Secret security clearance within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
3 years of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience
1 year experience with radar or optical/infrared analysis
1 year of experience with model Verification and Validation
1 year of experience utilizing MS&A tools to inform design solutions, derive or verify requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Pre-existing SAP access
1 year of experience with countermeasure design and analysis
1 year of experience developing threat models
1 year of missile defense radar analysis
1 year experience with discrimination or machine learning models
1 year of optical and infrared analysis
5 years of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience
1 year experience with analytic models such as OSC, XPATCH, and Method of Moments codes

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
