Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support a major federal modernization program. This role leads user-experience design efforts across cloud-based applications, data workflows, dashboards, and mission-critical interfaces. The Senior UI/UX Designer creates intuitive, accessible, and secure user experiences aligned with federal usability standards and operational mission needs. The designer partners closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Cloud, and Migration teams to translate complex workflows into clean, user-centered designs.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

User Experience (UX) Design
• Lead user research, persona development, workflow analysis, and UX discovery activities
• Create wireframes, user flows, journey maps, prototypes, and interaction models
• Translate mission and technical requirements into intuitive user experiences
• Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility (Section 508), and security standards

User Interface (UI) Design
• Develop modern, responsive interface designs for web-based dashboards and cloud applications
• Create high-fidelity mockups, visual assets, design systems, and style guides
• Ensure UI concepts align with UX principles, product requirements, and modernization goals
• Collaborate with developers to support pixel-perfect implementation

Collaboration & Agile Delivery
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and design reviews
• Work closely with Product Leads, Full Stack Engineers, QA Automation Engineers, and Cloud teams
• Provide clear design requirements, acceptance criteria, and handoff documentation
• Support iterative design improvements based on user testing and stakeholder feedback

User Testing & Validation
• Conduct usability testing, A/B testing, and UI validation sessions
• Analyze results and recommend design refinements to improve user efficiency and satisfaction
• Ensure final designs meet mission objectives and end-user needs

Documentation & Communication
• Produce design specifications, prototypes, and visual documentation supporting development
• Maintain design libraries and reusable components for consistency across applications
• Present design concepts and UX findings to leadership, mission stakeholders, and engineering teams

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, human-centered design, or digital product development
• Proven expertise in designing complex, data-rich interfaces for enterprise or mission-critical applications
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
• Strong communication, research, prototyping, and collaboration skills
• Ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive user experiences

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or national-security programs
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications, data visualizations, and microservice architectures
• Experience with accessibility compliance (Section 508 / WCAG)
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS or front-end concepts to support development alignment
