ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and automation of advanced test strategies that ensure enterprise-grade software systems meet all functional, integration, performance, and reliability requirements.

About the Mission:As technology evolves, adversaries increasingly outpace the digital capabilities of law enforcement. Those tasked with protecting the United States face growing challenges in accessing the evidence required to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism. This role directly advances that mission by enabling secure, scalable, and efficient software solutions that strengthen national security.
Responsibilities:
- Lead testing activities across the full software development lifecycle, including automated test creation, system integration testing, performance validation, defect analysis, and release readiness for mission-critical applications.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test suites to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Evaluate system behavior under load, identify and document defects, and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure rapid and effective resolution.
- Review and provide feedback on government test plans.
- Generate formal test reports and documentation in support of program deliverables.
- Support user acceptance testing and related verification activities.
- Perform configuration and change management in accordance with program standards.
- Ensure all testing processes comply with established quality, security, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related analytical or technical discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing and promoting testing best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex system behaviors.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across teams and collaborate within multi‑disciplinary environments.
- Experience mentoring junior testers and supporting high‑quality delivery within Agile, fast‑paced development cycles.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, and ability to obtain a polygraph.
Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
