The RoleWe're looking for a hands-on, strategic Senior Tax Manager to own and scale all aspects of our corporate tax function. This role will be responsible for managing compliance, provision, planning, and strategy across direct and indirect taxes, while partnering closely with Finance, Legal, and external advisors.

ResponsibilitiesU.S. Tax Compliance & Reporting- Manage U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance, nexus analysis, and indirect tax obligations.
- Review and coordinate preparation of tax returns with external advisors.
- Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Support audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
International Tax- Lead international tax planning and compliance across global operations.
- Evaluate tax implications of new market entry, legal entity formation, and international expansion.
- Manage transfer pricing policies, documentation, and intercompany transactions.
- Coordinate foreign tax filings and compliance with local advisors.
- Assess permanent establishment, withholding tax, VAT/GST, and digital services tax exposures.
- Monitor evolving global tax regulations and support cash movement, and cross-border structuring strategies.
Indirect Tax (Sales & Use Tax)- Oversee sales and use tax compliance, including nexus analysis and registration
- Implement and optimize sales tax processes and systems
- Monitor evolving tax obligations related to our products
Tax Audit- Manage tax audits and inquiries from federal, state, and local authorities
- Coordinate responses and maintain supporting documentation
- Mitigate risk and ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations
Cross-Functional Partnership- Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, and Billing teams on tax implications of business decisions
- Provide guidance on equity compensation tax matters, payroll tax considerations, and global mobility (as applicable)
Systems & Process Improvement- Build scalable tax processes, controls, and documentation
- Evaluate and implement tax technology solutions
- Improve data flows between accounting systems and tax processes
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Tax preferred)
- CPA required
- 7-10+ years of progressive tax experience (mix of Big 4/public accounting and in-house preferred)
- Strong experience with:
- Corporate income tax (multi-state)
- ASC 740 tax provision
- Sales & use tax compliance
- Experience in tech, AI, or high-growth startup environments strongly preferred
- Familiarity with international tax concepts (transfer pricing, foreign subsidiaries) is preferred
- Experience with tax software

Compensation- $200,000 - $250,000 + equity + comprehensive benefits package
Location- This role is onsite in our downtown San Francisco HQ
