Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Switch Engineer (Samsung OEM) is responsible for integration, deploying, configuring, and maintaining switching systems in a telecommunication network. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the network operates efficiently and effectively, according to project requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Integration and deploy switching systems, including switches, routers, and servers, ensuring that they meet project requirements and are scalable and efficient.
- Configure and maintain switching systems, ensuring that they are operating at peak performance and that they are up-to-date with the latest software and security patches.
- Troubleshoot issues network issues, using testing equipment, analyzing network data, and working with other teams to identify the root cause of the problem.
- Test and optimize networks, ensuring that they are operating at peak
- Document work all work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repairs, in a detailed and accurate manner.
- Provide technical support to customers and other teams, including answering questions and providing solutions to complex technical problems.
- Participate in team meetings providing updates on project progress, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
- Mentor and provides technical guidance to junior engineers, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with experience with Samsung OEM experience.
- Expert knowledge on integration of Samsung OEM HW.
- Expert knowledge of network technologies, including switching, routing, and networking protocols.
- Must be strong self-starter, ability to drive results and must be willing to learn new technologies.
- Must be able to communicate with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Will be key interface and POC for customer and will drive the entire project, excellent communication skills is a must.
- Should attend daily market calls and provide status updates to the customer.
- Must have leadership skills, have attitude of getting things done.
- Min 7+ yrs experience - providing remote integration support on LTE & 5G and managing the projects on Samsung OEM is a must
- Must have hands on integration experience working on Verizon Networks with samsung OEM.
- Must have strong experience working on integration and alarm clearing of GSM/UMTS/4G/5G on Samsung hardware
- Experience working on Macro integrations on Verizon systems is must
- Must be able to oversee and train other engineers on team
- Support on the fly scripting for antenna/RRU swaps, perform RET validations, define external alarms, frequency retunes, and perform site reconfiguration as needed.
- Provide support to drive testing crews by locking/unlocking sectors and make power changes as required.
- Validate and script port mapping as per design.
- Must have hands on experience working on Ericsson BBUs [redacted]-6648 &6651 and Samsung equipment.
- Must have hands on experience working on IXRE router commissioning, troubleshooting & migrations.
- Able to perform level 1 and Level 2 triage on immediate basis and engage other groups
- Should be able to manage multiple projects (IXR migration, Carrier integration, anchor projects) in fast paced environment.
- Strong skills in both Integration, RF and good understanding of transport disciplines and attention to detail
- Ability to understand, create and follow MOPs.
- Creation of Change Records and Tickets to support assigned work.
- Works with our local GCs, Real Time Performance Team, and Field Operations Team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Field Operations Team (Field Integrator)
Pay Range in the United States: $80K - $120K based upon geography, skills, and experience. May also be eligible for performance incentive opportunity based on company and individual goals and performance.
