Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Program Director - Data Center Services is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects and programs within critical network facilities. This role manages the deployments-racks, cabling, power systems, routers/switches, and supporting environments-ensuring technical excellence, operational continuity, and strategic alignment with business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution for Data Center Services programs.
  • Oversee project teams responsible for design, installation, and maintenance of data center network infrastructure across North America, including structured cabling (fiber and copper installation, termination, and testing), rack and stack/roll deployments, and Smart Hands services for ongoing support, adds, changes, even maintenance, and decommissioning. From initial design to full-scale deployment, providing end-to-end solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability in data center installation.
  • Ensure seamless integration with Network Operations, Field Engineering, and Outside Plant, and Wireless (where applicable) teams.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Implement best practices for project execution, quality assurance, and health & safety compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering teams, operational business units, vendors, facilities, and senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across internal stakeholders to support growth, network reliability, and uptime requirements.
  • Report regularly to executive leadership on key milestones, KPIs, and potential escalations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across data center services operations.

  • Working knowledge of physical security, fiber management, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Experience managing greenfield builds and brownfield retrofits.
