About the jobWith your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
The XR Audio team is dedicated to creating immersive audio experiences that seamlessly blend the physical and digital worlds across a portfolio of XR smart glasses spanning audio-only devices, monocular and binocular smart eyewear, and fully immersive, mixed-reality headset.
The team operates at the intersection of acoustics, hardware co-design, digital signal processing, and system software. We own the end-to-end audio pipeline, starting from raw acoustic design and physical hardware co-design up to platform-level audio frameworks and high-level conversational feature enablement. We partner closely with hardware engineering teams, algorithm designers, software architects, external silicon vendors, and key component suppliers to deliver industry-leading audio quality.
For decades, the computing revolution has reshaped our world driven by
breakthroughs in compute, connectivity, mobile, and now, AI. Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap - the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices - it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where
lightweight XR devices like smart glasses and headsets pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
