About the role:

As a Software Engineering Manager at TQL, you'll lead a team of developers responsible for building and supporting innovative software solutions that drive the business forward. You'll partner closely with product, architecture, and business stakeholders while fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture. In this role, you'll balance people leadership with technical direction, guiding teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while continuously improving engineering practices and team effectiveness.

What you'll be doing:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and career development for members of the application development team
  • Direct the design and development of complex software solutions within the Microsoft development stack
  • Guide the thoughtful use of AI to accelerate feature development and improve code quality
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code review processes
  • Drive improvements in build processes, test automation, and continuous integration practices
  • Partner with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to align solutions with organizational goals
  • Lead collaborative design sessions to architect data structures, web components, and services
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication of project status, risks, and dependencies
  • Support issue resolution and implement preventative improvements to reduce recurring problems
  • Empower support teams through training, documentation, and tooling
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation and participate in change management activities
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and remove impediments when acting as a Scrum leader
