What we need

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the incredibly talented team at our recent acquisition Fox Robotics. This role is a great fit for individuals with excellent Web Development skills with an interest in Robotics. You will build Web Apps that control robots, display what they see in WebGL, and render the large amount of data they produce into real time graphs.

What we do

The team is responsible for building and maintaining the software later that enables people to interact with our market leading autonomous forklifts. These user-facing apps are used to operate, monitor, and display real time insights into these robots. The team works to ensure that these highly technical systems are usable, intuitive, and aligned with real world operational needs.

What you'll do
  • Own feature development end-to-end, from design review through production deployment and monitoring
  • Build web applications that control robots, visualize sensor data in WebGL, and render telemetry into real-time graphs.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to refine requirements and align solutions to our component library.
  • Write comprehensive tests and provide constructive code reviews to maintain code quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and technical guidance.


What you'll need
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience maintaining and extending production-grade applications.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with hands-on experience building modern web applications.
  • Working knowledge of backend technologies (Node.js, Express, NestJS) and real-time communication protocols (WebSockets, MQTT).
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues in distributed, high-availability production environments.
  • Proven ability to write clean, testable code using modern testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library).
  • Familiarity with modern development workflows and tools (Git, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Agile/Scrum).
  • Experience with state management libraries (Jotai), databases (Prisma), and cloud platforms (GCP) is a plus.


Our environment
  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $149,000.00 - $204,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
