Full Job Description
The Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB) is at the heart of this transformation-streaming massive volumes of sensor data (cameras, radar, RF, medical devices) directly into GPU memory with low latency to enable real-time AI. Modern AI is no longer just about models - it's about getting real-world data into those models fast enough to matter. Holoscan Sensor Bridge enables real-time signal processing with microsecond-level latency, direct streaming of sensor data into GPU memory, and scalable, software-defined sensor integration across industries. Your work will directly shape the future of surgical robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, and next-generation scientific instrumentation. This is where cutting-edge hardware meets real-world impact at scale.

We're looking for a Senior Systems Software Engineer to help architect and scale the software backbone that connects the physical world to accelerated computing. This is not just a systems role-this is where hardware, networking, and GPU computing converge to power the next generation of robotics, healthcare devices, and industrial AI systems.

What you'll be doing:
  • Design and build high-performance, low-latency data pipelines from sensors to GPU memory (RDMA, Ethernet, GPUDirect)
  • Develop and optimize system software, drivers, and APIs for sensor integration and streaming
  • Work across the stack-from FPGA interfaces and networking protocols to CUDA and application frameworks
  • Enable seamless integration of diverse sensors into the Holoscan ecosystem
  • Debug and optimize real-time distributed systems under strict latency and throughput constraints
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and AI teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and Contribute to a platform that reduces sensor integration complexity by orders of magnitude

What we need to see:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (BS or MS) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems programming (C/C++/Python) and Linux internals
  • Deep understanding of networking (TCP/UDP, RDMA, kernel bypass, high-throughput systems)
  • Experience with real-time operating systems or low-latency systems
  • Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces (PCIe, DMA, FPGA, SPI, I2C, I2S)
  • Solid debugging skills across complex, multi-component systems
  • Experience working close to hardware and performance bottleneck
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude, Codex and Cursor, including automating software development lifecycle activities.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Experience with CUDA / GPU programming
  • Knowledge of sensor pipelines (camera, radar, RF, medical imaging, IMU sensors)
  • Exposure to distributed systems or edge computing platforms
  • Background in robotics, healthcare devices, or high-speed data acquisition
  • Familiarity with agentic AI tooling, and experience applying multi-agent systems to engineering workflows

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until July 6, 2026.
