Full Job Description
Senior Software Engineer to join our Workplace Digital Technology (WDT) team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that support JLL's digital workplace platforms. You will work closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features while contributing to long-term code health and technical excellence. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and drive architectural decisions that shape our platform's future.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture
  • Design and develop full-stack applications using modern web technologies and cloud-native architectures
  • Lead technical design discussions and make architectural decisions for complex features and systems
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Champion "shift-left" quality practices by embedding testing early in the development lifecycle

Operations & Quality
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues in a timely manner
  • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, observability, and proactive system health management
  • Contribute to comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the engineering team
  • Ensure adherence to JLL's security, compliance, and operational standards

Innovation & Improvement
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks that enhance team productivity

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5-8 years of professional software development experience with demonstrated technical leadership

Technical Skills
  • Expertise in at least one backend language (C#, Node.js, Python, Java) and one modern frontend framework (Angular, React, Next.js, Vue.js)
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems
  • Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks platform including Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, and building scalable data pipelines
  • Advanced Power BI development skills including DAX, Power Query, custom visualizations, and embedded dashboard creation
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and DevOps practices
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) including infrastructure as code, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless architectures
  • Experience integrating AI agents and AI/ML capabilities into production applications

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to debugging and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Azure AI services
  • Knowledge of security best practices including authentication, authorization, data encryption, and vulnerability management
  • Experience with performance optimization, scalability patterns, and system observability tools
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in technical communities
  • Understanding of commercial real estate, facility management, or workplace experience domains

123,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD per year
