Engineer 2, Software!The EFM IT Developer Productivity & Tools team is responsible for strategy, lifecycle management, governance, and adoption of tools and platforms that enable application development and engineering productivity across the organization. In this role, you will design, implement, maintain, and support development productivity tools and platforms that improve developer experience, streamline software delivery, and enable engineering teams through automation, CI/CD capabilities, and modern development tooling. Key responsibilities include developing custom integrations, plug-ins, and automations; managing third-party libraries and dependencies; supporting tool evaluation, configuration, and optimization; and helping establish standards, best practices, and processes that promote consistency, security, and efficiency across the software development lifecycle.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Ability to troubleshoot application build failures and find solutions
- Proven ability to extrapolate data out of application monitoring and development tools and present to non-technical resources
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software products
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, security, compliance, and business teams to drive technology adoption, improve developer productivity, and share knowledge and guidance
- Demonstrated learning agility with a commitment to staying current on evolving AI capabilities, industry trends, and best practices
- Ability to evaluate, pilot, and recommend new technologies through research, experimentation, and proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and perform night and weekend maintenance as needed
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task
QualificationsRequired:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
- 3+ years' experience in DevOps, developer productivity, build engineering, and/or software tooling support
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling and applications
- Experience with Gradle build scripts
- Experience with Java application build processes and associated configurations
- Experience with GitHub, SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory, Jira and Confluence Administration
- Experience managing software dependencies for build tools such as Gradle, Node.js/NPM, Python, and/or NuGet
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Cloud based tooling, scripting, and monitoring
- Familiarity with application build tooling and development practices in general
- Java software development (Groovy knowledge is a plus)
- Experience working with AWS and cloud-native DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security scanning tools, and software supply chain management
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot or other AI-enabled engineering solutions
- Experience with Dynatrace
- Experience with Unit testing
